colours that make for a bold, freshly modern look. “Traditional patterns have been reinter- preted, and there were intriguing high-low structures to see there as well as blended ma- terials, spacious abstract designs and artistic representations,” Dornacher relates about the fair’s portfolio, “And a recurring theme was this radiant blue familiar from the buildings of the Jardin Majorelle, along with petrol, orange and violet.” A lot of things have happened with wool quality and washing, in addition to design: “It’s a real trade-up: they have a feel that is special for Moroccan rugs, plus a lovely sheen and lively brilliance.”
